The people of Aji Community and entire Essodo people of Enugu-Ezike in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, on Thursday, organised a civic reception in honour of Hon. Engr. Williams Ejike Itodo, the Executive Chairman of the local government.

The reception was to celebrate him for having made them proud as the Council Chairman through his giant strides and human capital empowerments and to extol His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for providing enabling ground for him.

The August occasion took off with a Holy Mass at Immaculate Heart Parish Aji, Enugu-Ezike, where during the sermon, Rv. Fr. Stanislaus Nze, described Mayor as a man who has satisfactorily demonstrated capacities and commitments as the Executive chairman, Igbo-Eze North Council, within the shortest period he was elected.

Corroborating the position of the former, Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Ukwueze, Parish Priest, Immaculate Heart Parish, Aji, maintained that Prince Itodo has proven that he has the potential for a higher political position having performed far above expectations in his first tenure in office.

He therefore, called on the congregation to pray for the Peoples Mayor for more grace to continue to excel.

Inside Enugu Blog gathered that during the event, which took place at Central School, Aji in Enugu-Ezike, where people from all works of life and from the various twenty political wards in Igbo-Eze North and beyond, trooped out en mass to celebrate the council boss for his leadership quality, the people of Aji community, in their Welcome address, noted that their reasons for the event was to thank him for all the democracy dividends he was able to execute within his first tenure.

They also noted that it was an opportunity to prove that the people are well pleased with Hon Ejike Itodo as the council chair.

Hon. Architect Innocent Agbo, Comrade Peter Andy, Executive chairman, Igbo-Eze South, Engr.Tobias Ogbonna Onuh and others, in their respective goodwill messages, described Prince Itodo as a visionary leader and great achiever whom God has sent to project Igbo-Eze North higher.

In their capacities as custodians of the customs and tradition of the people of the area, the traditional rulers in Esodo kingdom in conjunction with the town Union bestowed Hon. Engr. Williams Ejike Itodo with a befitting title “A Servant Leader” based on steadfastness and humility as the Executive chairman, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.

Prince Itodo, while thanking the people for the honour, noted that the people of Aji and Esodo have shown him much love.

He noted that the reception in his honour was commemorable in the history of humanity in Aji.

Prince Itodo went ahead and urged the people embark on a Foundation under Aji Youth Movement (AYM), where a lot of people will be gainfully empowered.

On behalf of himself and his family, he disclosed the sum of fifteen million naira only (#15,000,000,00) has been earmarked to kickstart the foundation in Aji, which will gradually expand to other parts of Igbo-Eze North Local Government.

On this note, Euse Ekere Ekere did not hesitate to support him with five hundred thousand naira (#500,000,00).

Prince Itodo thanked all the people who committed their times, prayers and resources to see to the success of the reception in his honour.

Barr. Paul Odo, Secretary to the Local Government, in a closing prayer, thanked God immensely for the success of the event and prayed for for a journey mercy back to their respective destinations.
